Conditions

PROTECTION PACKAGES AVAILABLE:
You have a choice of Basic or CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) or MPP (Maximum Protection Package).

"Basic" Protection is included in your rental rate at no additional cost.

All Damage Cover is forfeited if:

• the terms and conditions of the rental contract are breached.  The hirer is then responsible for the total costs of any damage.
• the vehicle is submersed in or damaged by water or salt water
• driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and on restricted roads
• wilful damage such as standing or sitting on the vehicle's roof or bonnet is strictly prohibited and is at the hirers cost.
• the hirer is responsible for any recovery costs that may occur if the vehicle becomes bogged or stranded caused by driver error regardless of the insurance excess / level of cover.

These payments cover one accident only - in the event of an accident the bond or additional insurance payment will be collected again for the balance of the rental days. The loss or theft of personal belongings or damage sustained to the vehicle's interior fittings or equipment are not covered (except in the case of collision damage)

Additional Costs

Your total rental cost will be made up of ;

• the daily rental rate

• any optional Damage Liability costs (if selected, see above)

• a "One Way Rental" fee (if applicable, see below)

• charges for any Additional Hire Items (if selected, click here)

Dolphin prides itself in NOT having the hidden extra costs that many other companies do. 

Dolphin DOES NOT CHARGE EXTRA for bed quilts, bed sheets, pillows, bath towels, out-door furniture, cooking & eating equipment, road atlas, caravan park guides, Dolphin's Renter's Guide, additional drivers, "Basic DL" insurance or government taxes.

Naturally there will be additional costs if you return your vehicle with damaged or missing items, fuel or gas not filled.

One Way Rentals

A "One Way Rental" fee applies to any rental that finishes at a different depot from where you started.

• Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide & Cairns = $195

• Perth = $495

• Alice Springs & Darwin = $600

i.e.. One Way Perth to Sydney would have a one way fee of $495

Rental Charges
When calculating the number of days a vehicle is rented, the day of pick up is counted as day one of the rental, regardless of pick up time. The day of the vehicle’s return is counted as the final day of the rental. When a rental moves from one rate season to the next, the calculation is based on both rates.

Rental Duration & Kilometres
Minimum rental duration is 7 days. Shorter durations may be available upon application.   Minimum rental durations may increase seasonally  at Dolphin's discretion.  Rentals are based on unlimited kilometres.

Branch Hours For Pick-Up and Drop-Off
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Cairns, Darwin and Perth.
Monday to Friday – 9.00am to 3.00pm
Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays by APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Licence Minimum/Maximum Age
A valid Driver's Licence from your Country of Origin or Residence, or an International Licence is acceptable. The minimum age is 25 years. The maximum age is 75 years. Arrangements can be made for drivers aged between 21 and 24 and drivers over 75 under special circumstances, subject to additional insurance charges.

Cancellations
Other than for exceptional circumstances and then entirely at the discretion of the manager, the following fees will apply for cancellations after confirmation of booking (payment of deposit):

• A minimum $75.00 fee will apply to all cancellations.
• Within 30 days prior to pick-up: $500.00
• Within 7 days prior to pick-up: 50% of rental cost
• If cancelled on day of pick-up or a No Show: No refund available
• If vehicle is returned early: No refund available

Security Bond Deposit
A Security Bond deposit is required for all vehicles at time of pick up.  As shown in the table at the top of this page, the value of the Security Bond depends on which Damage Liability option you have selected.  On return of the vehicle, provided no accident or damage has occurred, the vehicle is completely clean with fuel and gas tanks full, then the deposit will be returned to the renter. Payments made via credit card.

Change Of Vehicle
We reserve the right to substitute a comparable or superior vehicle at no extra cost in extreme circumstances. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the renter to any refund whatsoever.

Cleaning Fee
From $80 to $120 if the vehicle is not returned in reasonable condition to the manager’s discretion. The vehicle must be returned with the toilet emptied, otherwise a cleaning fee of $100.00 will be charged.

Refunds
There are no refunds for vehicles returned earlier than the agreed term on the rental contract.

Destination / Road Restrictions
Campervans and Motorhomes cannot be driven on any form of dirt or unsealed roads. Nor can they be driven in areas where snow exists (snow chains cannot be fitted). Other limitations of use are listed on your rental agreement.

All insurance and refundable money is waived if the above restrictions are breached. Any damage and/or recovery costs are the customer’s responsibility.

Repairs
All repairs / tyre replacements must be authorised by Dolphin Camper Hire prior to any repair work proceeding. Dolphin Camper Hire will reimburse you for expenses incurred in rectifying any authorised problems on presentation of the relevant receipts. NB: Defective parts or damaged tyres must be returned to our office for inspection. We will not accept responsibility for hotel or motel charges, meals or out of pocket expenses – in the case of breakdown, liability will be limited to the refund of hire charges for any days lost.

Service
All vehicles are covered by a national emergency roadside breakdown service.

Traffic Infringements
We reserve the right to charge the renter for any speeding or parking fines and/or accidents not reported on return of the vehicle. ($30 admin fee will apply per fine.)

Prices
All prices are quoted in Australian dollars.

Right Of Refusal
Dolphin Camper Hire reserves the right to refuse any rental at its discretion. For full terms and conditions or rental see the rental agreement.
